Obesity… Did You Know?

Obesity is defined by BMI levels of 30 or more, and has different degrees
Approximately 40.3% of U.S. adults (20-60+) have obesity
Severe obesity is characterized by an individual weighing more than 100 pounds over their ideal body weight (BMI >40), in the US 9.4% of adults are in this group
Excess weight, obesity or severe obesity significantly increases the risk of developing many others diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, osteoarthritis, cancers, neurological disorders, chronic respiratory diseases, and digestive disorders.
Nearly 112,000 annual deaths in the U.S. are attributable to obesity
Behavior, genetics and environment are all contributing factors of severe obesity
Overweight and obesity, as well as their related diseases, are largely preventable and manageable

Provide counselling on healthy diet and lifestyles with our trained professionals
Advise on management of the disorder, through healthy diet and regular physical activity, as well as explain and offer, as appropriate, available therapeutic measures
Offer supportive environment and services
BMI is only a screening tool and does not directly measure body fat or visceral fat, which are more accurate predictors of metabolic disease. We offer these detailed measures
